Not being a photographer, I have no idea about technique. However, this picture made me breathe more softly, so as not to disturb the scene. You made me believe that the flowers are really right there, and that they are magical. The stillness of the whole scene... your patience in getting this picture! I appreciate the range of colors in the sky. I don't typically think of a green-tinged sky as beautiful; thank you for proving me wrong! There's enough color, shape, and distance contrast to make the blooms stand out without being obnoxious. Nice touch, having some of the unopend flowers in focus, too.
The colours are so wonderfully clear and the red of the poppy flowers really stands out. The fact that there are only about four colours in the picture (red, green, blue and a bit brown) provide a really calm atmosphere, which I like very much . I also like that in the backgound the colours change from blue-ish to green-ish the more you get to the edge of the photo. The only thing that disturbs me a bit is the grain on the right side. Because it's a relatively big object it distracts the eye from the main focus, the poppy flowers.
